Brad Dancer is the new GM at WSHU Public Radio in Fairfield, Conn.
Dancer started July 1. He replaces Rima Dael, who left in December to become CEO of the National Federation of Community Broadcasters.
WSHU Station Manager Janice Portentoso and Senior Director of News and Education Terry Sheridan were interim co-GMs from January through June.
Dancer was most recently an adjunct professor at Roosevelt University in Chicago teaching “Technology Strategy in the Performing Arts,” a news release said.
His past roles include SVP, global strategy & data analytics, for WWE and EVP, global data, insights & brand standards for National Geographic.
“The collective talent and passion of the WSHU team has earned us the loyalty of our dedicated audience as well as countless prestigious awards,” Dancer said in a news release. “This uniquely positions us for success, and I am confident that, together, we will achieve even greater things.”
WSHU is owned and operated by Sacred Heart University.
“I am confident that Dancer will foster a culture of innovation and shepherd the station into a new era of content creation that goes well beyond the radio,” SHU President John J. Petillo said in the release.
