Austin Fuller, a journalist who previously covered business for the Orlando Sentinel, joined Current Monday as a reporter.
Fuller has 10 years of experience in daily journalism. At the Sentinel, he covered publicly traded and privately owned companies with headquarters in Orlando, including Darden Restaurants, which owns Olive Garden, and Publix Super Markets. He reported extensively on the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on local restaurants and retailers.
In earlier jobs at the Daytona Beach News-Journal and the Daily Commercial of Leesburg, Fla., Fuller edited coverage and reported on entertainment, including state funding for museums and cultural programs, and city government.
“With his experience in daily journalism skills and business reporting, Austin will bolster Current’s coverage of how public media is adapting to audience needs and revenue trends,” said Karen Everhart, managing editor.
