Jennifer Cook was named executive director and assistant VP for WUCF, the dual licensee in Orlando, Fla.
Cook succeeds Phil Hoffman, who left the station in 2021. Cook served as interim executive director during the search for a successor.
“The past 18 months serving as the interim leader have been rewarding — I’m honored to serve as the leader to take WUCF into the future,” Cook wrote on LinkedIn.
Cook joined WUCF in 2014 as communications manager. She was promoted to director of communications in 2015 and senior director of content and engagement in 2019 before starting the interim position.
Before WUCF, Cook was a programming manager for Bright House Networks, an EP for Spectrum News 13 in Orlando and a broadcast fundraising manager for WMFE in Orlando. She started her media career at WKAR in East Lansing, Mich., while she was a student at Michigan State University.
