Erin Moran, CEO for the nonprofit consulting firm Public Media Co., will step down as the organization’s leader.
Moran, who does not have plans to work elsewhere, will serve as CEO until a successor is in place. She will stay involved with the Boulder, Colo., company “in limited client projects part-time” after she steps down, according to a news release.
“Erin has done a remarkable job leading Public Media Company for the past four years,” said PMC board chair Fred Marienthal in the news release. “Throughout her 20-plus years at our organization, she has played a critical role in many of PMC’s projects across 50 states and in building its virtual accounting services. The organization is in a strong position today thanks to her great success in leading and collaborating with our talented staff, board, and clients.”
Moran joined PMC in 2002 as a principal advisor on financial matters shortly after the company was founded. She later worked as COO and CFO before becoming CEO in 2019. Before PMC, Moran was a VP for KeyBank and an auditor for KPMG and Arthur Andersen.
“When I joined the company, we were a start-up. We envisioned that as a nonprofit consulting firm with business and financial acumen, we could help public media organizations throughout the country change and grow,” Moran said in the news release. “After all these years, we are firmer than ever in our dedication to that mission; and I am honored to have worked with so many public media leaders, and their dedicated boards and staff.”
Marienthal and board members John Crigler and Susan Harmon will lead the search for a new CEO.
