The FCC has set February dates for the first in a series of informational workshops for television broadcasters to learn more about upcoming spectrum auctions.
In each city, members of the commission’s Incentive Auction Task Force and representatives from the investment banking firm Greenhill & Co. will make presentations in public sessions and answer questions about the auction and subsequent channel repacking. They will also be available to meet with broadcasters on a confidential basis, the FCC said in a Jan. 21 announcement.
Workshops will run nationwide between February and May, with additional dates announced later.
Dates and locations for the first meetings are: Philadelphia (also for Harrisburg, Pa., broadcasters), Feb. 9; Wilkes-Barre and Scranton, Pa., Feb. 10; New York (also for the Tri-State area and Albany), Feb. 11–13; Nashville, Tenn., Feb. 24; Atlanta, Feb. 25; and New Orleans (also for Hattiesburg, Miss.), Feb. 26.
