“The Great Vegas Recipe”, a Vegas PBS digital series

“The Great Vegas Recipe” matches the most talented high school students from the Clark County School District’s Culinary Arts program with Las Vegas celebrity chefs. The goal was to share local family recipes and culinary traditions that are rooted in the culture and history of Las Vegas. Vegas PBS was the proud recipient of a grant from “The Great American Recipe”, a new PBS cooking competition show that embraces culinary traditions through storytelling, which premiered on June 24, 2022.
Through a competitive process, four young students got the special opportunity to cook their most treasured family recipes for James Beard-award winning Chef Martin Yan of “Yan Can Cook”. On June 21st, we hosted a live virtual cooking demo with viewers across the U.S. who tuned in to see Chef Yan create his own spin on one of these four winning recipes, which will be featured at his new Las Vegas strip restaurant M.Y. Asia.
