Kathryn Squyres

Kathryn Squyres is Current’s summer 2025 editorial intern. Prior to reporting for Current, she covered Congress for The Durango Herald in Southwest Colorado, where one of her stories was recognized for strong political reporting by the Colorado Society of Professional Journalists. She has also written for The Eagle, American University’s student newspaper, since the fall of her freshman year. There, she has covered university admissions, AI in the classroom, student protests and COVID-19 on campus. When she’s not writing, she can be found wandering through museums, finding cozy study spots, chasing sunsets with her camera or planning her next solo adventure.
