The station is licensed to the Clark County School District. In a news release, school district Superintendent Jhone Ebert said, “Mare’s leadership has strengthened Vegas PBS as both an educational partner and trusted public media service. She leaves a strong foundation that will continue to benefit students, educators, and the community.”

Before joining Vegas PBS, Mazur was GM of Arizona PBS. Before that, she was an EVP, COO and CCO for KCETLink Media Group in Burbank, Calif.

Mazur also worked as SVP of programming and production for Cosgrove Meurer Productions and Patchett Kaufman Entertainment, as a VP for CBS and as a director of drama development for NBC.

“Vegas PBS is entering its next chapter from a position of strength,” Mazur said in the release. “In recent years we’ve focused on strengthening the organization’s foundation, expanding service across broadcast and digital platforms, and reinforcing the role public media can play in education and civic life. With a strong team and clear strategy in place, this is the right moment for a thoughtful transition.”

“This transition reflects strong governance and confidence in the organization’s direction,” said Andrew Thurlow, chair of the Southern Nevada Public Television Board. “Vegas PBS is well positioned to continue building on its momentum and serving Southern Nevada with impact and relevance.”
