Johnny Lee Walker named station manager of KBEM

Johnny Lee Walker became station manager of KBEM, a jazz station in Minneapolis.

Walker most recently worked as interim station manager. He succeeds Dan Larkin, who left the station in May 2024. Larkin became GM of KAZU in Monterey, Calif., in May of this year.

Walker joined KBEM in 2020 as a development specialist. Before that, he worked for the commercial radio station KKZY in Bemidji, Minn., as sales manager, senior account executive and afternoon drive host.

Walker has also worked in sales and marketing for Cumulus Media stations based in Minnesota. Other titles he’s held include director of marketing and digital media for the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe-Casino Gaming Division and host and senior advertising sales executive for KKBJ in Bemidji.
