Jennifer Schell Podoll was named CDO for New York Public Radio.

Podoll

Podoll most recently worked for Autism Speaks, most recently as SVP of constituent engagement. She was also chief marketing and development officer for Guiding Eyes for the Blind and had leadership roles at March of Dimes, the American Cancer Society, the National Down Syndrome Society and the United Way of Westchester and Putnam.

“I could not be happier about this new role with New York Public Radio,” she said on LinkedIn. “I’m a life-long super fan of public radio and a career-long fan of mobilizing communities to do great things. Add in the greatest city on earth, and we have career kismet.”

Rob Wiseman was appointed chief advancement officer for Classical KING in Seattle.

Wiseman

Wiseman most recently worked as senior director of development for the Seattle Symphony. He also worked in development for the National Symphony Orchestra, the Pacific Science Center, the Seattle Opera, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Opera.

“Music has always been at the core of my life, and classical radio is part of my earliest memories,” Wiseman said on LinkedIn. “Being a part of Classical KING’s work to develop new audiences for classical music and make this artform accessible for everyone is so exciting.”

Development

Carpenter

Terri Carpenter was promoted to managing director of corporate support for Maryland Public Television. Carpenter joined the MPT Foundation in 2018 as sales assistant for corporate support. She has also been an account specialist and account executive. Her previous positions include director of membership for the Howard County Chamber of Commerce and senior account executive for an ABC affiliate in Flint, Mich.

Little

Lauren Little joined KUT in Austin, Texas, as managing director of membership and development. Little most recently worked for the Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin, rising to senior associate director of development and annual giving. She was also campaign and donor relations manager for WBUR in Boston.

Thomas

Erica Thomas was hired as director of development and donor engagement for Basin PBS in Midland, Texas. Thomas most recently worked as a teacher for the Midland Independent School and served as department chair and advisor for its student council and the National Junior Honor Society. She has also been secretary of the board for the Midland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and was treasurer of Energize Midland Schools.

Laura Knoll, membership director for KGOU in Norman, Okla., is retiring. Knoll joined KGOU in 2005.

Wurzer

Cathy Wurzer, host of Minnesota Now for Minnesota Public Radio, is leaving the position to focus on hosting Morning Edition for the station. Wurzer, who joined MPR in 2001, co-created Minnesota Now in 2021. She is also a co-host for Almanac, produced by TPT in St. Paul. “This move will allow me the time to help grow one of MPR’s flagship programs: Morning Edition,” she said in a news release. “More than ever, we want to help Minnesotans connect, clear out the information clutter and start their day with trusted journalists and news they need, answer their questions, and offer a little inspiration along the way. I’m excited to make Morning Edition my focus.”

Heilman

Jason Heilman was hired as a classical music host and producer for Wisconsin Public Radio and will lead the daily program Drivetime Classics. Heilman previously worked as a classical music host and producer for Public Radio Tulsa in Oklahoma. He was also managing director and concert narrator for the performance group Tusla Camerata. “I’m eager to share my love of classical music with Wisconsinites, particularly the listeners here in Milwaukee,” said Heilman in a news release.
