David Kramer is Current’s new advertising and marketing director.
Kramer arrives from CET (Cincinnati Educational Television), where he spent five years as corporate support representative. Previously he was an underwriting sales representative at WGVU in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Earlier in his career, Kramer was publisher of Grand Gardens Magazine, also in Grand Rapids, and a marketing consultant for Clear Channel Radio.
“Dave brings a wealth of experience to Current; we are looking forward to both the wealth and the experience!” said Julie Drizin, executive director.
Kramer will be Current’s point person for placing ads online and in print and for sponsoring Current’s podcast and events.
He succeeds Emily Lowrey, who has served as interim advertising director and interim executive director since March 2014.
“Emily has brought business smarts, creativity, an incredible work ethic, infectious enthusiasm and Southern charm to Current,” Drizin said. “She has been instrumental in transforming Current to a digital-first news operation with a mobile-friendly web presence. All of us at Current are deeply grateful for her leadership in cultivating revenue and relationships. We will miss her!”
Welcome, David!
