  • PBS, Futuro Media receive NEH grants

    PBS and Futuro Media Group were among the hundreds of recipients of National Endowment for the Humanities grants awarded last week.  PBS received nearly $500,000 for It’s Lit!, a PBS Digital Studios series of short films about literature. PBS has produced 11 episodes for the series.

    Sometimes it feels like the Venn diagram of musicians and public media personalities is a circle — which makes sense, since we spend most of our waking lives with headphones on. Earlier this year, I teamed up with Current to ask public media’s musicians to send us songs so we could compile a playlist.

  • ‘America’s Test Kitchen,’ Christopher Kimball resolve lawsuit

    A heated dispute between producers of popular public TV cooking shows has cooled following a settlement between America's Test Kitchen and its former CEO and host Christopher Kimball.  The two sides announced an “amicable separation” and resolution to the nearly three-year lawsuit in a Thursday press release. A trial had been scheduled for October.
