The COVID-19 pandemic exacerbated a dramatic housing and evictions crisis throughout the country. We worked with community partners to create a free series of workshops to help tenants stay housed.

Good Neighbor Awards

We hosted the PBS39 Good Neighbor Awards in the spirit of Fred Rogers’ legacy of education, community and compassion. We staged an all-star live broadcast and launched the Good Neighbor Fund.

The Crosstown Neighborhood Newsletter

There is no one-size-fits-all news for Los Angeles, a sprawling city of four million. So we created 110 different email newsletters, one for each neighborhood.

Rise and Shine

“Rise and Shine” brought summer learning to students’ homes. Created in partnership with the AR Dept. of Education and dozens of community orgs, the program combats learning loss in grades K-5.

Main Street sponsors put the “public” in public radio, creating a sense of place on-air. The Community Accounts Sponsorship Team gives small sponsors big love with marketing solutions and coaching.

Vaccine Equity for Oakland

In Oakland, Black and brown communities have undeniably been impacted the most by COVID-19. We designed a multi-platform information campaign to answer their questions about vaccines.

Summer Concert Series

CapRadio’s cross-platform Summer Concert Series supports local musicians from underrepresented groups and reunites music lovers with the live performances they’ve been missing during the pandemic.

Relax! Tru Facts on the Vax

We partnered with a local institution to produce a FB Live broadcast. We combined music and comedy via street interviews with medical expertise to dispel COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

Ms. Martha Reads

WHRO’s Early Childhood Education manager, Martha Razor, reads stories to students weekly over Facebook that were submitted in previous years to the WHRO annual Young Storytellers Contest.

KC Performs

Kansas City PBS developed the KC Performs initiative to support local arts organizations (theatre, song, instrumental) as Covid-19 forced audiences out of performance halls and theatres.

WXXI Public Media Live Forum Series

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, WXXI produced six forums with a panel of experts and community leaders, who shared information about the virus, vaccines, reopening plans, the economy, and more.
