Maxie Jackson has resigned as executive director of the Pacifica Foundation, according to an announcement Thursday by the chair of the foundation’s board.

The Pacifica Foundation “wishes him the very best in his future endeavors,” said Grace Aaron during a board meeting. Jackson resigned effective July 5, she said.

The board selected an interim executive director during an executive session Thursday and will announce his appointment when a contract has been signed, according to a report on the executive session. Aaron said she is serving as executive director until that time.

Jackson left Pacifica after less than a year at the helm. He was its first permanent executive director since 2015.

Jackson declined to discuss his resignation with Current.
