  • KCUR staffers seek to unionize

    Staffers at KCUR in Kansas City, Mo., shared their intent to form a union in an open letter Tuesday.  The staffers are intending to unionize through the Communications Workers of America. “As KCUR continues to grow and develop to better serve the community, we seek a more active role in the shared future of this organization,” the employees said in the letter posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

  • PBS proposes 4% increase in station dues to balance 2025 budget

    PBS is requesting a 4% station dues increase in its proposed budget for fiscal year 2025. The preliminary budget, presented during a PBS board meeting Wednesday, would generate a total of $227 million in station assessments, an increase of $8.7 million from fiscal 2024.
